Hello there! I'm Barbara Cousins, a self-proclaimed amateur photographer with a knack for capturing life's beautiful, quirky, and sometimes downright hilarious moments. I'm a wife to a wonderful husband who tolerates my endless clicks, a mother to five strapping boys who have perfected the art of dodging my camera lens, and a proud grandmother whose grandkids have learned to say "cheese" before they could even walk. And, drumroll please, I'm now a great-grandmother! Yes, I know, I don't look a day over fabulous!
But that's not all. When I'm not behind the lens, I'm the Vice President and Treasurer of the Absolutely WI in Ferndown. It's a role that keeps me on my toes and ensures I never miss out on tea, scones, and the occasional debate over the best jam for a Victoria sponge. Life in sunny Bournemouth, nestled on the picturesque south coast of England, has its perks, and I make sure to capture every single one of them. From the serene beaches to the charming little lanes, my camera and I are on a mission to document it all, one snap at a time.
My journey into photography began with a trusty smartphone. As those tiny cameras got better, so did my addiction to capturing every moment. Retirement has given me the freedom to dive headfirst into this passion. Now, with more time on my hands and a coastline that never ceases to amaze, I'm ready to spend my golden years snapping away. Whether it's the vibrant hues of a sunset or the candid expression of a seagull stealing chips, my goal is to bring a splash of color and a dash of joy into every shot.
